During economic hardship hunger becomes an increasing problem, especially for children. To show Christ’s love in a tangible way the Mobile Munchie program was created. Each Thursday morning joyful, willing, and dedicated volunteers come to the church to assemble 260 Mobile Munchies (brown bag lunches). Each bag contains a nutritious meal consisting of a peanut butter sandwich, raisins, carrots, juice box, cookies, and chips. The Mobile Munchies are distributed to the Salvation Army’s Good News Club, Nana’s House, Boys and Girls Club of Waimea and Kapaa, Lihue Towncourt’s after school program, and the Kokua Kitchen. Since its inception in 2005 over 100,000 lunches have lovingly been distributed.
This outreach is funded by generous donations. A gift of $100 will provide one lunch each week for one child for one year.
You can join us locally to prepare brown bag lunches on Thursday mornings at 7:30 a.m., or you can make a donation online in the link below!
